Urbana Welfare Association

It is the association for 1100+ Urbana Flat Owners coming together for good & enjoyable social life.

In 2010, when Bengal NRI Complex Limited - BNRI (a joint enterprise of the government of West Bengal with the Shrachi, Emami, Sureka, MKJ, JB and Nahata Groups) launched Urbana, just 700 metres from Ruby Rotary, spread over 66 Acres of which half i.e. 33 Acres of pure greenery, huge modern club promising ‘Change your world’ many of us simply fell in love and booked apartment in the Project of 7 towers of G+40/45 floors and many villas expecting mesmerizing view coupled with fresh Air and modern life at gated community, so close to prominent schools, malls, hospitals and CBD – in fact what more we could have asked for?

Indeed it has been a long wait and finally on 5thOct, 2016 BNRI has received partial CC for Phase I (Towers 1,2,6 and 7). Over 50 families have started living in these Towersuntil Feb, 17 and many have started fit outs to move in coming days. It is expected there will be residents in close to 150 flats by middle of 2017 when the Club is expected to be ready for use by the members.

As we the flat owners and future residents prepare to step into our dream abode, we have formalized ourselves into registering Flat Owners Association aptly called the "Urbana Welfare Association (UWA)". Our association intends to build a strong forum to capture all queries/grievances, take them up before BNRI and other authorities for expeditious resolution. We aim to assist members in each step as you will be facing possible hiccups while taking possession, sharing knowledge of available service provider and vendors who are catering fellow flat owners and possibly open up information of other vendors who can also cater your varied need. The committee is also working with numerous vendors to work out preferred pricing deal for Urbana flat owners (affectionately called “Urbanites”) to make substantial savings. The ultimate objective is to share information with fellow owners to minimize pain of moving to new place and derive optimum benefit of constructive collaboration.

And above all, the Association is aiming to make life of Urbanites as enjoyable as possible by fostering friendship & brotherhood amongst flat owners – this is already evident as the Association had a grand ‘Holi Milan’ on 27th of March’ 16 even before a single family actually moved to Urbana. MaaDurga arrived for first time at Urbana in 2016 and Durga Puja was celebrated with all the rituals with active participation of several Urbanites who were still not residing in the complex yet. This was followed by a Grand Diwali get together well attended by over 200 members.

The Association had 1st General Meeting on 11th June’16 in community hall of Tower 7 and a Residents meet was arrange on 15th January, 17 to interact and share feedback of families who have lready made Urbana their HOME !!

This website is a step in this direction, having made humble beginning to allow all future residents a platform to collaborate in every aspect.
